If I enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan, will that automatically cancel my Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plan?
Enrolling in a Medicare Advantage plan does not automatically cancel your Medicare Supplement (Medigap) policy. However, since you cannot use both types of coverage at the same time, you will need to contact your Medigap insurance provider to cancel the policy yourself.
Please be aware that if you discontinue your Medigap coverage, you may not be able to re-enroll in the future without medical underwriting, which could affect your eligibility or premium costs. It’s important to carefully review your options before making any changes to your Medicare coverage.
